Wow, Mardi Gras is over. We met lots of nice people, talked with while waiting and like that.

1
Yes, if we go to the parades there is a lot of waiting. Standing around, doing not so much. But we take some pictures too.

2
We sure did! We took one of a celebrity too. Should have asked for her autograph but you wouldn’t!

1
Well, I figure everyone deserves to have some personal space even in a crowd and she was busy, watching, just like us.

2
Well, I guess, but still. We could have at least shaken her hand and said how much we admire her for what she has done over the decades. She looks really good for turning 102 next September, too.

1
She didn’t act like she wanted attention, especially. And anyway, almost all of our favorite pictures are from before or at the very start of the parades. We  saw Krewe  du Vieux and Red Beans start and Ray gave us a ride to a super-krewe be-in last night.  That’s my favorite part of the whole scene.

2
Right, three out of about eleventy thousand, seemed like. But we saw three be-ins, two befores on the parade route and two happenings. And we saw the CTC Indians today because we stayed home. They marched right up St Claude, no police escort or anything.

1
Look! No one is keeping score, or at least I’m not. It’s like keeping beads. Remember I asked that one guy what they did with them and he said they put them in a bag and throw them in a closet. Then he laughed because he knows it’s silly. Mainly he just likes catching them, getting them.

Yes, just like that one lady threw a pair of Iris anniversary sunglasses to me specifically because I took her picture. She looked me in the eye to make sure I was paying attention. That was kind of cool. A one-on-one in a crowd of a zillion people, for about 5 seconds. Still, it was a personal gesture at that moment, which she may or may not remember, but I do.

1
Well, I guess you do. Yes, it is a funny thing, those moments out of time. But people have always talked to us, approached us. We must look harmless or something.  Later you gave the sunglasses away.

2
Yeah, I know. We like participating at the moment.

1
It’s letting the world flow around us in the now being all and being not-all at the same time, participating in and yet, impartially observing the never-ending story.

2
What?! Where do you get this stuff from? Oh wait, it’s the all-encompassing, pervasive internet, isn’t it?

1
Look, just never mind and publish your celebrity photo, OK?

2
Uh, sure. I’m posting my photo of Raggedy Ann right now.
